Before your surgery, we coordinate with you and your doctor regarding your procedure(s), length of stay with us, and pick-up times. Immediately upon being discharged from your surgery, we will pick you up in a luxury vehicle and transport you to Zen Recovery. Upon arrival, Zen Recovery staff will meet you and bring you to your specially prepared suite.

We also coordinate closely with you and your discharge instructions to meet any food restrictions/preferences that you may have. Soups, snacks, smoothies, fresh juices and a stellar selection of teas are available at all hours of the day.

We provide round the clock  care with complete confidentiality, comfort, and post-surgical after-care expertise upon your arrival. 

Length of Stay

Pursuant to your doctor’s orders, most of our guest book a stay between three (3)  to seven (7)  days.  Special circumstances allow for negotiation of longer stays on a limited basis.

What should I bring?

• An overnight bag

• Toiletries

• Laptop/Tablet (Free wireless internet is available)

• Books on tape

• Change of clothes for when you leave Zen Recovery to return home

Any required prescription medications

º Will I be picked up?

Absolutely! Once you are discharged, your designated nurse will pick and transport you with the chauffeured car to our location to begin your safe and comfortable recovery with us.

º Do I have to call to confirm?

If you have received a confirmation letter (by fax or email), you do not need to confirm by phone; we are already preparing for your stay. However, we welcome all calls and question. 

º Is food included with my stay?

Yes. While you are at Zen Recovery, you will receive light meals that are designed to facilitate your recovery per your doctor’s perview.  We will observe your dietary preference and likes.

º Are Recovery Staff available 24 hours a day?

Yes, during your post-op recovery with us, our staff will be onsite with you in your room at all times.

º What about last minute stays and extensions?

We are usually able to accommodate last minute patients. However, we retain the most impressive staffing standards in the aftercare industry. In order for us to best serve you and our other clients, please give us as much lead-time as possible so we can staff appropriately and secure accommodations.

º Is a post-op visit included?

While you are staying with Zen Recovery Surgical Aftercare, post-op visits and transportation are included.  If you choose to stay with us pre-op and need transportation we also include transportation within a 20 mile radius from our facility.

Please be advised, we are NOT a medical service provider, however we’re located less than 3 minutes away from the largest medical district (Memorial Hermann, Houston Methodist, Baylor Hospital). We’re simply here to provide accommodations and care assistance after your procedure(s) with 24-hour personal care. Our staff have experienced surgeries and taken care of others through similar experiences in the past and have become knowledgeable about the physical and emotional support needed to recover soundly.
